SUMMER CAMPS

Your ticket to the best summer ever!

We are offering several week-long recreational summer camps throughout July and August, for ages 3-10. These camps don't require any experience, so everyone is welcome to join!

We are also offering several style-specific intensives, which are targeted towards experienced/competitive dancers. More information about these intensives can be found near the bottom of the page.

We require a minimum number of dancers to run each camp. Any cancellations due to low enrolment will be communicated at least one week in advance. Dancers must be the minimum age of the camp at the time of registration to attend.

2026 Summer Dance Camps

During these week-long camps, students will experience ballet, jazz, acro, hip hop, and musical theatre dance classes. They will also get to enjoy gymnastics, obstacle courses, exciting crafts, fun games, and outdoor activities (if the weather permits). This camp is great for new and seasoned dancers alike, as they get active and build new connections. We guarantee they will have a blast!

FAQ's

What should my child wear?

We do not require any specific dance wear for our camps, however, we ask that all attire be "dance safe" and long hair be pulled back out of the face into a bun, ponytail, or braid. If you are unsure of what your dancer should wear, this is our suggestion: athletic/comfortable clothing such as a t-shirt, shorts or pants, and bare feet or indoor sneakers. Your dancer is welcome to wear any other dance attire and shoes for the appropriate classes, but must be able to go barefoot for acro classes.

What should my child bring?

Each student will need to bring a water bottle, snack, and lunch. Please note, we are a NUT FREE facility (peanuts and tree nuts), so please keep this in mind when packing food. We will hopefully be able to go outside for a short time each day during the week if the weather permits, so feel free to pack a hat, sunglasses, and/or sunscreen as well. If the weather is not ideal (too hot, rain, etc.) we will stay inside to do other activities, such as puzzles, small crafts, free play, etc. Please make sure all of their items are labelled with their name to avoid lost items.

What will drop off look like?

The studio will open at 9:00am, unless Before Care has been arranged. You will enter the studio with your child and send them off with the teacher to find a cubby for their belongings and get settled in Studio 2. If you arrive early, please note that children aged 8 and under are not permitted to be left at the studio without a parent or guardian while waiting for the camp to start. You can leave their jacket, outdoor shoes, and bag at the studio with them.

What will pick up look like?

Pick up will be at 4:00pm, unless After Care is arranged. Your child's teacher will ensure that they can see you before they allow your child to leave. This means that you must exit your vehicle for pick up, regardless of your child's age. We require the person who dropped them off to also pick them up, unless we receive notice in advance, to ensure the safety of your child.

What if my child has separation anxiety?

It is very common for children ages 2-5 to have separation anxiety, however we know that it can make drop-off very difficult. Our teachers are prepared to help your little one feel comfortable in this new environment, and usually they will be adjusted after the first day or two. We suggest sending their favourite toy with them for the first little while to make them feel more comfortable if you're concerned about drop-off. We may also start the day with colouring so your child can begin the class with a familiar activity that can help with self-regulation.

We are also offering several intensives this summer that are targeted towards competitive and experienced dancers. Dancers do not need to be registered 2026-2027 Studio 17 Competitive Program students to attend our All Styles Intensive or Acro Bootcamp.

Acro Bootcamp (Ages 7+)

During this 4-day bootcamp, dancers will train to develop several elements of acro dance, including balancing, contortion, limbering, partnering, flexibility, strength, and tumbling. As we work safely through progressions and drills, your dancer will advance their existing technique and master new skills. We will also be taking a trip to a gymnastics centre to further their tumbling skill development. This camp is open to dancers ages 7+ who have taken acro for one or more years and are going into Acrobatic Arts Level 3 or higher. Dancers will be split by skill level as space permits. (This class is not mandatory for 2026/2027 Competitive Program dancers, but it is highly recommended.)

July 20-23, 2026
5:00-8:00pm
$205 + GST (early bird before May 1st)
$235 + GST (after May 1st)

All Styles Intensive (Ages 10+)

During this 4-day intensive, dancers will get exposure to "all styles" of dance, including contemporary, lyrical, jazz, modern, hip hop, jazz funk, contemporary ballet, and more. This intensive will feature an amazing line-up of guest teachers, as well as some Studio 17 staff. As we work through new and familiar genres, dancers will develop confidence in their personal style and explore new forms of expression and patterns of movement. This camp is open to dancers ages 10+ who have been dancing for one or more years. Dancers will be split by experience level as space permits. (This class is not mandatory for 2026/2027 Competitive Program dancers, but it is highly recommended.)
