Recreational Program Classes
Ballet
Our ballet classes follow the RAD syllabus, with a strong focus on posture, alignment, poise, and the foundations of classical technique.
Acro
Our acro classes utilizes the Acrobatic Arts syllabus, which promotes growth in a safe, progressive, and age-appropriate manner. Working with our certified teachers, students will advance their flexibility, strength, limbering, balancing, and tumbling skills.
Jazz
Our jazz classes incorporate elements from the ADAPT and Method syllabi, and guide dancers through the basics of flexibility, jumps, turns, and stylistic movements in a high energy environment.
Hip Hop
Hip Hop is an urban street dance style that incorporates many techniques such as breaking, locking, popping, house, funk, and commercial dance, which work to develop each dancer’s groove and personal style.
Tap
Our tap classes also incorporate the ADAPT syllabus, as well rhythmic tap technique. Tap dance focuses on intricate footwork, while promoting musicality, rhythm, and coordination.
Lyrical
In our lyrical classes students will learn to convey stories and emotion while incorporating ballet and jazz movements. As they explore their creativity and improvisation, they will develop their own natural style.
Musical Theatre
Musical Theatre classes integrate dance, singing, and drama into one fun and creative class.
FAQ's
How many children will be in each class?
We will only be accepting 15 students for each class.
What should my child wear?
Your child should wear comfortable clothing that they can be active in, and long hair should be pulled back out of the face. Dance attire is not required, but is welcome. You can find class specific attire suggestions under "class descriptions" on our registration site.
What should my child bring?
You can send your little one with a water bottle and their dance shoes. Please make sure all of their items are labelled with their name.
What will drop off look like?
You will enter the studio with your child and send them off with their teacher to get settled into the class. You can leave their jacket, outdoor shoes, and bag at the studio with them. Once they are in their class you are welcome to leave, or if you would like to wait around we ask that you wait in your vehicle.
What will pick up look like?
Your child's teacher will ensure that they can see you before they allow your child to leave. This means that you must exit your vehicle for pick up, regardless on your child's age.
What if my child has separation anxiety?
It is very common for children ages 2-5 to have separation anxiety, however we know that it can make drop-off very difficult. Our teachers are prepared to help your little one feel comfortable in this new environment, and usually they will be adjusted after a couple of classes. We suggest sending their favourite toy with them for the first little while to make them feel more comfortable. We may also start off with colouring for the first couple of classes so your child can begin the class with a familiar activity that can help with self-regulation.
