
Competitive Program
The competitive program runs September-June and is available to students aged 7 or older. Each level has required classes that every dancer must participate in, as well as additional optional classes. Students in the competitive program will have the opportunity to participate in competitions, exams, auditions, community performances and recitals.

Competitive Program Levels
MINI
Ages 7-8
Required classes include ballet, jazz, and acro.
(4 hours/week)
Stretch/conditioning, tap, hip hop, and musical theatre are optional.
(Up to an additional 3 hours/week).
JUNIOR
Ages 9-11
Required classes include ballet, jazz, acro, and
stretch/conditioning.
(4.75 hours/week)
Lyrical/contemporary, tap, hip hop, and musical theatre are optional.
(Up to an additional 3 hours/week).
INTER
Ages 12-13
Required classes include ballet, pointe, jazz, and stretch/conditioning.
(7.25 hours/week)
Acro, lyrical/contemporary, tap, hip hop, and musical theatre are optional.
(Up to an additional 5.25 hours/week).
ADVANCED
Ages 14+
Required classes include ballet, pointe, jazz, and stretch/conditioning.
(7.25 hours/week)
Acro, lyrical/contemporary, tap, hip hop, and musical theatre are optional.
(Up to an additional 5.25 hours/week).


Competitive Program Classes
Ballet
Our ballet classes follow the RAD syllabus. Ballet exams will be offered at our discretion to competitive students.
Acro
Our acro classes utilize both Acrobatic Arts and ADTA syllabi. Acro exams may be offered to competitive students.
Jazz
Our jazz classes incorporate both the ADAPT syllabus and Method syllabus. Jazz exams may be offered to competitive students.
Hip Hop
Hip hop teaches groove, musicality, and style. Students will learn different styles of hip hop, such as breaking, house and commercial dance.
Tap
Our tap classes also incorporate the ADAPT syllabus, as well rhythmic tap technique.
Lyrical
In our lyrical classes students will learn to convey stories and emotion while incorporating ballet and jazz movements.
Contemporary
Musical Theatre
Stretch/Conditioning
Contemporary dance is similar to lyrical, but uses more contraction and release, abstract movement, and floor work.
Musical theatre explores dance, singing, and acting. Students will learn to portray characters and work on vocal techniques.
Stretch & Conditioning classes will utilize the Alixa Flexibility syllabus to safely increase our dancers' strength and flexibility.
