Studio 17 has worked in collaboration with Golden School of Arts and Third Draft Theatre to create a unique Daytime Program focused on teaching your little ones the basics of fine arts. Students aged 2-5 years will utilize their imagination and creativity while exploring dance, music, and drama. During the 2-hour session they will also get to enjoy art, academic subjects, fitness and more.
Our Daytime Program works to develop each child's gross and fine motor skills, while promoting confidence, discipline, self-expression and social skills. All of our teachers and educators are trained to work in early childhood education and strive to have each student leaving with a smile on their face!
This program will runs September to June and does not participate in any performances.

What to Expect
Your little one will learn all about rhythm, tempo, and melodies, while singing and playing with a variety of instruments.
Introduce your child to the world of theatre with lessons that explore emotions and characters, as well as story-telling and dress-up.
Dance lessons will focus on the basics of jazz, acro, and hip hop, while promoting creative movement and self expression.
Students will get to paint, draw, cut, glue, and color to their heart's content during our arts and crafts time.
Our program will also include opportunities to work on academic subjects such as reading, writing, science, math, and more.
We will keep your little one moving with plenty of chances for obstacle courses, yoga, and active games.
What should I expect from this program?
We tailor our lessons around the theme of the month, and each day will include one lesson in each of the subjects, so your little one will get to enjoy dance, music, drama, art, fitness, and academic lessons every day.
How many children will be in each class?
We will only be accepting 10 students for each age group.
How old does my child need to be?
We have two age groups available: Ages 2.5-4 and Ages 4-5. All students are required to be potty trained to attend this program.
What should my child wear?
Your child should wear comfortable clothing that they can be active in, as well as indoor shoes or bare feet (no socks allowed without shoes). Dance attire is not required, but is welcome.
What should my child bring?
You can send your little one with a water bottle, ready-to-go snack, and indoor shoes (if preferred). Please make sure all of their items are labelled with their name.
What will drop off look like?
You will enter the studio with your child and send them off with their teacher to get settled into the class. You can leave their jacket, outdoor shoes, and bag at the studio with them. Once they are in their class you are welcome to leave, or if you would like to wait around we ask that you wait in your vehicle.
What will pick up look like?
Your child's teacher will ensure that they can see you before they allow your child to leave. This means that you must exit your vehicle for pick up, regardless on your child's age.
What if my child has separation anxiety?
It is very common for children ages 2-5 to have separation anxiety, however we know that it can make drop-off very difficult. Our teachers are prepared to help your little one feel comfortable in this new environment, and usually they will be adjusted after a couple of classes. We suggest sending their favourite toy with them for the first little while to make them feel more comfortable. We will also start off with colouring so your child can begin the day with a familiar activity that can help with self-regulation.
